EXUMA, BAHAMAS

For my dad’s 50th birthday, we took a trip to Exuma in the Bahamas. (Yes, this is where #FyreFest went down.) It was one of the most memorable family vacations we’ve ever been on and I can’t wait to return someday.

2 DAYS IN CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE

Last week Cameron and I had the chance to spend a few days in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It’s just about a two hour drive from Nashville. Both of us have grown up visiting the town for things like the Aquarium or a quick afternoon trip here and there. This was our first time really experiencing Chattanooga and all of its charms.

25TH BIRTHDAY GETAWAY | HILL AND CABIN

It’s crazy to think I turned 25 last month. I feel like 21-15 were the fastest few years of my life. I welcomed in my 25th in the best way possible. I had a huge birthday celebration at FGL House on my actual birthday December 8th. We’re all about celebrating BIG in my family. We had a DJ and probably about 200 people. I’m truly so grateful for all of the wonderful people in my life.

1ST ANNIVERSARY PART 2 | PETALUMA + NAPA, CA

The second half of our anniversary trip was one of the most unexpectedly amazing experiences. We randomly booked an Airbnb right before we left and, to be honest, I wasn’t that excited about it. We had originally planned to head to Napa after our stay in Sonoma, but we realized some of the wineries we still wanted to visit were closer to a town called Petaluma.

1ST ANNIVERSARY PART 1 | FARMHOUSE INN IN SONOMA, CA

Wow, I don’t even know where to start on our trip to Sonoma. It was exactly what we needed for our first anniversary. I joked that we were setting the bar too high for all of our other anniversaries. 🙂 Our actual anniversary was back in September, but Cameron was traveling for work so we decided on an October getaway, and I’m so happy we pushed it back! September is peak season because the grapes are still on the vines and you get to see more of the harvest process.

FALL TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY | TRAVEL DIARY

I’ve been to New York 5 or 6 times, and I have to say this trip was the first time I’ve really fallen in love with the City. Cameron and I spent five days immersed in the hustle and bustle and loved every minute of it. In fact, I had a bit of a quarter life crisis and was considering moving there for a period of time. There is just something so inspiring in the air.

OXFORD, MISSISSIPPI | 48 HOUR TRAVEL ITINERARY

Ahh, nothing recharges my mind and puts things back in perspective quite like a long weekend in Oxford. I went to college at Ole Miss and completely fell in love with the quaint small town and all of its charms. It’s one of the most underrated cities but if you know, you know. It is truly something special.

CHARLESTON, SC | TRAVEL DIARY

This was our first “just for fun” trip in a while, and I have to admit it was so refreshing. I had no idea how quickly I would fall in love with Charleston. It’s a charming and quaint southern city with a European vibe.

HONEYMOON TRAVEL GUIDE | 10 DAYS IN MAUI

Maui is an absolute DREAM. It is the perfect trifecta of natural beauty, relaxing beaches and outdoor adventure. The vibrant views of the island’s natural beauty will forever linger in my memory. As far as tropical destinations go, it definitely ranks at the top of my list. Cameron and I have been on many trips together over the last nine years, but spending our honeymoon in Maui was by far one of the most memorable.

GALENTINE’S STAYCATION | AERTSON HOTEL

You know your girl loves a good staycation. I was so excited when my friends Casey and Savannah from Hey Wanderer had the idea of a Galentine’s Staycation with our friend Sarah! Whether you’re single or an old married lady like me, it’s so important to spend time with girlfriends. We recently had a snow storm in Nashville and our staycation was planned right at the end of it. The snow made for a even cozier experience and made our stay at the Aertson that much more fun.

DISCOVER WYOMING | ONE (MUSICAL) STORY AT A TIME

When I was asked to go on a trip to Wyoming, my first response was ” well, that’s kind of random.” What I didn’t suspect was how quickly I would fall in love with the state and its beautuful landscapes. Wyoming is a place where the untamed spirit of the wild west still flourishes.

JOSH DORR | SUNDANCER RELEASE

As I mentioned in my latest post, we recently got the chance to visit Wyoming. Not only did we get to explore and learn all about the beautiful state, but we were also there for Josh Dorr’s EP release. To be totally honest, I had never listened to his music until right before the trip, and I left a total fan of his work and of Josh as a person.

Nashville Date Night | Grand Ole Opry

Growing up in Nashville makes it easy to overlook all the history that the city holds. I have been to the Grand Ole Opry countless times. I grew up going to work with my mom for various artists over the years, but never really took the time appreciate the building, the music and all that it represents until recently.

Travel Guide | Oxford, Mississippi

Oxford, Mississippi… a place that gets in your heart and stays there forever. I knew nothing about Oxford or Ole Miss before I toured the campus my senior year of high school. In fact, I didn’t even apply to go to school there. When a friend asked me to join her on a campus tour, I immediately felt at home amongst the tall oak trees and charming southern hospitality. My four years in college flew by, but the memories and friendships I made in that small little town will last a lifetime.

Thompson Nashville

We had the most INCREDIBLE staycation at the Thompson Nashville for my 23rd birthday. The Thompson is a new luxury boutique hotel in The Gulch and it exceeded all of our expectations. From the managers to the doorman to the waiters at Marsh House, we experienced nothing but wonderful and friendly service during our entire stay.

Urban Cowboy B&B

I wanted to plan a trip for Cameron’s 25th birthday but since our busy schedules didn’t allow it, I succesfully surprised him with an equally relaxing staycation at the one and only Urban Cowboy in East Nashville. Their motto, “Arrive as strangers, leave as friends,” rings true to our experience at the hip and distinctively designed bed and breakfast created by Lyon Porter. Our hosts, Max and Chelsea, welcomed us with a shot of whiskey and a smile.

New Orleans

Oh, New Orleans. There’s so much joy to be found here. There is also an unexpected serenity to be discovered when you look past the bright lights of Bourbon Street. This becomes especially evident while walking along the Bayou St. John or in the cool shade between the live oaks. The fusion of new and old, the vibrant music scene and unique culinary experiences all contribute to the city’s rich culture and lively spirit.
