Last month I got the chance to escape to the beautiful landscapes of Center Hill Lake for a relaxing getaway with a group of fellow Nashville creatives. We stayed at a unique treehouse overlooking the lake, complete with 5 balconies and breathtaking views. This place is truly something special. It’s hard to believe it’a less than a two hour drive from all the hustle and bustle of Nashville. My friend Colleen Gallagher of The Second Muse planned the entire weekend, and she knocked it out of the park with every detail. Many of us had never met before and it was such a fun few days of genuine connection and new friendships. I left feeling inspired and refreshed.

On our first night we all got dressed up and enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by the incredible chefs from Caviar & Bananas. From the charcuterie boards to the bourbon maple glazed ham, every dish was divine. We went around the table and all shared where we’re from, our creative endeavors and how we got started. I truly enjoyed getting to know each and every girl on the trip and listening to their unique story. Nashville has such an inclusive creative community and I feel so lucky to have met so many wonderful bloggers, photographers and everything in between over these past few years. After dinner, we all quickly changed into comfy clothes and cozied up around the fire with Tavola wine. We all shared our current struggles as well as our goals for 2018. Sometimes simply saying your goals outloud can make you that much more determined to reach them. When you take your dreams and write them down in the form of goals, they become real. This simple action of sharing them with someone adds a little fuel to that fire.

The next day was for collaboration and intentional conversation. We had breakfast, took a hike down to the lake and spent the day working together on various photoshoots and upcoming plans. There’s something so relaxing about being outdoors and I didn’t realize how much I needed it until I was there. Later that night we enjoyed Pink Hot Chocolate made by the Hey Wanderer gals, had a “build your own pizza” night and sat around in our pj’s watching Home Alone. It was so refreshing to sit down with like-minded women and share our fears and struggles. Blogging is an ever-evolving world and I couldn’t imagine navigating it by myself. I find myself more and more inspired everyday by the strong and driven women around me. For creative inspiration, be sure to check out the incredibly talented creatives below. Huge thank you to all of the amazing vendors who made this getaway possible!
