There’s a certain magic in the air at Opryland Hotel in December. I have so many sweet memories here so it holds a special place in my heart.

This year, we decided to stay at the Opryland Hotel. We started the staycation at the SoundWaves indoor waterpark. With our 10-month-old and 3 1/2-year-old, we had ourselves an eventful day. The joy of watching Remy and Radnor splash around made it an unforgettable experience.

As the day unfolded, we had dinner at the resort’s restaurant, which was decked out for Christmas. We loved how festive the entire hotel was! Later, we went on The Delta Riverboat ride, an indoor boat journey. It was an instant hit with the kids, adding to the overall holiday spirit.

The next day, we had a slow morning on the balcony before starting our day at the breakfast buffet. Then came the highlight of our trip—the ice exhibit. This year’s theme, the Polar Express, showcased 5 million pounds of ice, creating a winter wonderland that words can’t describe.
The attention to detail in the ice sculptures was amazing, and having the artisans at work added a unique touch to the overall experience. Despite the chilly 9° temperature inside, they provided heavy-duty jackets that kept us warm the whole time.

My parents joined us later that day, and we decorated gingerbread and explored the property. I even found out my dad used to be a bellman at Opryland Hotel!
