We turned our breakfast nook/lounge into a more functional play space for Remy, and it’s just the happiest space! This is where we spend most of our time these days. I had always envisioned our bonus room would be his playroom, but until he’s a little older it’s just not functional when we spend most of our time in the main living area. We have a really open floor plan and can see him no matter where we are down here.
The room was originally intended to be the breakfast area. Since we have a dining room and island, we never ate in there and decided to turn it into a study/sitting room. (See our boho sitting room here.) It easily transitioned to a play space with just a few small changes. We moved our velvet sofa from our office and added a few baskets and cozy touches. I also love the natural light for all of our plants.
If you follow me on Instagram you know that I am absolutely obsessed with House of Noa playmats!! They look like beautiful rugs but are actually super functional, wipe clean play mats. We have the Roam-Free mat in Sand Castle in the 8×8 size. You guys can use code PREMO10 for 10% off sitewide. Now that he’s crawling all around, we just put this baby gate on top of it. It can easily be folded down and stored under the couch. I love the cream color and it’s pretty aesthetically pleasing as far as baby gates go. 🙂

I love the overall tone! Such a good taste.. The playmats are so unique!
