We love celebrating birthdays around here… especially first birthdays! We did Camp Premo for Remy, Rad to the Bone for Radnor, and knew we had to do something special for our girl. We have collected Maileg for her since before she was born. I hadn’t really seen many Maileg parties, but knew we could make it happen! So we landed on Frankie’s Fanciful First: a mouse-sized celebration for a great big year.
Emmy from Rosie Days Collective planned my baby shower last summer, and I knew she would be the perfect person to help me bring the vision to life.
My favorite part of the whole day had to be the dollhouse photo backdrop. What started as a crazy idea via text from Emmy quickly spiraled into a personalized mouse house complete with details from our own house – a mini version of our romp room, family photos on the wall, and of course a replica of our giant bed.
Frankie wore a vintage yellow dress that was my mom’s when she was little. I also wore it when I was her age and we displayed our photos on the mantle. Love that 3 generations of baby girls have now worn the same dress, and that it was part of such a special day for Frankie!
The details of the cake and smash cake were unreal. Butter’d Crumb Co nailed the whimsical, girly, slightly vintage feel with the color scheme and piping. She even put a tiny Maileg eating cake on top! We also had Chrissy from Chrissy’s Pop Shop create tiny cake pops, and they were works of art.
We have Rosy Check details all throughout Frankie’s Nursery, so it only felt fitting to have Mackenzie-Childs details throughout the party. Their serve ware can make any party or everyday moment feel magical. It makes me emotional thinking about how these heirloom pieces will be used throughout Frankie’s life.
Laurel Ellsworth, a local Nashville artist, did live watercolor illustrations of all the guests. We called it ‘Frankie’s Mouse-ification Station’ and it was such a hit. She also did the custom illustration of Frankie that was on details throughout the party and really tied it all together. We also set up a wand-making station for a ‘big kid’ activity. The soft play area from All Smilez was full of kiddos from beginning to end, and the spinning carousel was everyone’s favorite part!
Florals from local florist Field and Fleur brought color and texture throughout the party. I am in awe over the artistic and whimsical touch of her arrangements. She also created floating arrangements in Funboy floats, which really made the pool feel like part of the party.
I am a matcha girly through and through, so when we decided on a brunch time party I knew I wanted a matcha bar. Bar Cater knocked it out of the park with the custom iced matcha and coffee drinks. They named them after Maileg pieces because… duh. We had a Princess & The Pea Coconut Lychee Matcha and a Sleepy Wakey Vanilla Iced Coffee. My friends are still texting me about these drinks.
It was the sweetest, most memorable day celebrating our girl.

A note from our planner:
“Designing Frankie’s Fanciful First was such a dream project for the Rosie Days crew. When Hunter came to me with the idea for a Maileg Mousey-inspired party, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to create something more quirky and whimsical than we’ve ever done before. Enter the life-size mouse house backdrop, the ultimate party centerpiece! In every element of the design, I not only wanted to incorporate the iconic Mousey theme, but also nod to all of the things that make Frankie and the Premo family so special. Each little corner of the backdrop design was filled with ultra-personal details from family photos to the Premo romp room, and even an Alaskan king mouse-sized bed, fit for a mousey family of 5.
We didn’t stop at the backdrop design either. Every inch of the party- from the mousey matcha menu with Maileg-inspired cocktails to a pool installation with a life-size mouse cabana- was curated to make guests feel like they were stepping into Frankie’s mousey wonderland. Projects like these, where I can truly dive into every special detail that makes a party memorable, truly fill my cup, and this one will stay in the books as a Rosie Days all-time favorite.“
