This week marks three months until the big day, so I thought I’d kick off #WeddingWednesday by answering some of your top wedding questions! I loved reading all the questions from my fellow brides out there and will definitely be doing more Q&A style posts in the future. Always feel free to reach out to me with your questions (about anything!) at schleicherhunter@gmail.com. It really helps me plan posts that YOU want to read and I love connecting with my readers!

Q&A

What is your skincare regimen? –McKenzie

I’ve really been taking care of my skin this past year or so and have DEFINITELY noticed a huge difference. A few things that have helped the overall texture and appearance of my skin include: regular facials, mild peels and derma-planing with Shawn Michelle at Parlour 3, my mom’s salon in Nashville. I was hesitant about derma-planing but it’s a serious game changer! For those who haven’t heard of derma-planing, it’s a simple and safe treatment for exfoliating the skin on your face and ridding it of fine vellus hair aka “peach fuzz.” It leaves your whole face feeling baby soft and is a great way to quickly rejuvenate your skin.

I also believe using Retinol regularly has dramatically improved the texture and vibrance of my skin. I use the Revision Retinol Complete which hydrates the skin for maximum efficacy with minimal irritation.

I can’t say enough great things about the IT Cosmetics CC Cream. It is a great alternative to heavy foundation for everyday coverage that actually improves the overall health of your skin with SPF 50+ and an anti-aging, hydrating formula. It’s proven to brighten and nourish your skin with vitamins and peptides. I don’t go anywhere without it!

MORNING (Revision Products can be purchased through Parlour 3 or visit the Revision website to find a retailer near you)

  1. Revision Papaya Enzyme Cleanser – This cleanser is perfect for all skin types and helps achieve naturally vibrant skin. I use a nickle-sized amount twice daily to cleanse and prep my skin.
  2. Revision Hydrating Serum –  This stuff is magic!!! Cameron refuses to use any kind of lotion or moisturizer and even he loves this stuff. It hydrates without feeling oily or greasy. My friend Andrea describes it as a “drink of water for your skin” and that’s exactly what it feels like.
  3. Revision Vitamin C Lotion – This product is great for creating bright and radiant skin. I use this once daily in the morning before applying any moisturizer.
  4. D.E.J. Eye Cream – Even at 23, I am already seeing signs of aging around my eyes. I’ve tried a LOT of eye creams and this is by far my favorite!
  5. SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore – Current FAVORITE product, has minimized my pores and completely changed the “fullness” of my skin
  6. IT Cosmetics CC Cream

NIGHT ROUTINE

  1. Papaya Enzyme Cleaner

  2. D.E.J. Eye Cream

  3. Retinol Complete – This product is life-changing! I had always heard about the benefits of Retinol, but I’ve seen dramatic results from using it consistently 2-3 times a week. It initially caused dryness in my skin, but after a few weeks it improved my skin’s texture and brightness.

  4. SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore

  5. Firming Night Treatment – This rich nighttime moisturizer deeply hydrates your skin while you sleep.

Can you tell us about your daily hair routine? What products and tools do you use? –@sc_356

To be totally honest, I try to style my hair as little as possible. I’ve noticed a huge difference in the health of my hair by just letting it air dry and not loading it up with tons of heavy products when I don’t need to. I’d say I actually take the time to style my hair with products about 2-3 times per week. When I do, some of my favorites include Kerastase products, Oribe Dry Texture Spray, and Oribe Superfine Hairspray.

My favorite tools include my T3 Micro Featherweight Dryer and my Jose Eber Curling Wand

What is your fitness routine? Are you changing anything leading up to the wedding? -Emma

I’ve been going to Pure Barre Brentwood 3-4 times a week (give or take) for almost a year now and I absolutely LOVE it. I’ve always been into high intensity workouts so it was a total change of pace for me, but I’ve seen great results. As I’m getting closer to the wedding, I’m starting to run a few times a week in addition to Pure Barre.

I’ve found that when I stress and overthink about my weight it only makes things more difficult, so I’ve really tried to take a laid-back approach and focus on my health and feeling comfortable in my own skin over feeling “skinny.” I’ll take strong and happy over skinny any day!’

How are you combining both of your personal styles into the wedding? –Laney

I love this question! I really believe our venue Graystone Quarry set the tone for incorporating both mine and Cameron’s styles into the wedding. Cameron loves the rustic components of Graystone such as the exposed wooden beams and the raw, natural look of the limestone that surrounds the property. There’s also an elegance about the venue that I love. Cameron has been really helpful and involved throughout the whole planning process. We are also having His & Hers cocktails from Drink With Co., an innovative new local cocktail company created by my friend Josh Ellis

Do you have any ideas for bridesmaid and groomsmen gifts? –McKenzie

I am SO excited about my bridesmaid gifts. I am having custom kimonos made by Hey Wanderer, a local company that specializes in hand-dyed clothing. They will be getting ready in them in place of robes. Each piece will be completely unique and custom to each bridesmaid. I’m also having my friend and jewelry guru Mary Kathryn help design gifts for my bachelorette party and wedding day.

For my bachelorette party, my girls and I will be decked out in Packed Party gear! Packed Party is one of my all-time favorite companies. I immediately thought of them when I started thinking about bachelorette goodies. They have been my go-to for years for unique and fun gifts. To make things ever easier, they have a whole Bridal Section on their site. Can’t wait to show you guys what we got next weekend! 😉

As for groomsmen gifts, Cameron seriously killed the game! He personally designed these custom whiskey labels for all of his guys and they were such a hit. If you don’t know Cameron… he can basically do everything.

How about family thank you gifts? –McKenzie

One thing I always incorporate with every thank you gift is a thoughtful and specific hand-written note. Telling someone how much you appreciate them and their hard work goes so far. I ordered custom “Hunter + Cameron” stationery from Dwell Evermore and couldn’t be happier with how they turned out! Caity, the owner of the shop, is so great to work with. She even got an order to me the week before she went into labor!! That’s dedication. She also did the calligraphy on our Save the Date envelopes and we received compliment after compliment from our guests.

What would you suggest wearing on your bachelorette party? –McKenzie

My bachelorette is coming up next weekend and we’re going to Miami! I’m kind of the world’s WORST over-packer so I’m really trying to plan out my outfits based on our itinerary for the weekend. (Easier said than done, I know!) Stay tuned for my posts to see what I wore and I’ll do my best to post stories on my packing process. I ordered a bunch of cute outfits on Lulu’s and they should be here by the end of the week. 🙂

What personal touches are you incorporating into your wedding day? – Lauren

Hope of Sincerely Hope Designs has been a godsend for all things personalized for the wedding. Seriously y’all, I cannot say enough good things about her. She is a one-stop-shop for all things design and calligraphy. She is helping me with everything from drink menus, to programs to invitations, to welcome signs and more. You name it and Hope will make it happen! I don’t know what I would do without her… her designs and creativity truly helped me get a better vision of what I wanted for my wedding. I HIGHLY recommend contacting her for any design or calligraphy work you might need.

What are some make-up products you know you’ll wear on your wedding day? – Catherine

Great question! My all-time favorite foundation is the new Armani Power Fabric. I don’t like a heavy foundation look. It gives me the perfect amount of coverage for my skin while maintaining a dewy look. I’ll definitely have some kind of shimmery gold eye, and I’ve recently been loving Stila Magnificent Metals. I’ve also been loving all of Tarte’s latest and greatest products, specifically the Gleam Team Highlighter

General Frequently Asked Wedding Questions

Where are you getting married?

Our wedding will be at Graystone Quarry, an awesome new venue just south of Nashville in Thompsons Station. The property sits on 76 private acres of reclaimed abandoned rock quarries. On a quiet country farm road, the land is steeped in local history and beauty. It’s home to meadows, forest, streams, ponds, dramatic limestone cliff walls, and even a scenic waterfall. We knew it was our venue as soon as we stepped foot into the ceremony building and we couldn’t have picked a better place to begin the rest of our lives together!

Who are you using as your photographer and videographer? How did you choose?

We are using Teale Photography and Dallas Wilson Wedding Films. Dallas is a long-time friend and it’s been awesome to watch his success with his videography business over the years. I think he was one of the first people I texted from Italy after we got engaged because I knew we HAD to book him. Ha! We didn’t even have a date set, but we knew we wanted Dallas and his team to film our big day. He filmed our engagement video and it makes me cry every time because he captured our love so perfectly.

Dallas recommended Teale and Justin Gunter of Teale Photography. Upon our first meeting we hit it off with the husband and wife duo and knew they were just special people. They’re definitely the kind of people you’d want to be around on your wedding day. They have a way of making you feel so comfortable together in front of the camera and that was key for us.

Who is your caterer?

We’re using Chef Penelope’s Catering. Her tastings have been outstanding and we finalized our menu last week. Chef Penelope is extremely accommodating and an absolute pleasure to work with. We have a lot of guests and I totally trust that she and her team will make everything run smoothly! They are known for their gorgeous food displays and elegant presentation.

Top wedding planning tips? Any tips and tricks?

Wedding Wire’s Planning Tools have been super helpful. I’m currently using the Seating Chart Tool to figure out the bets layout for our tables. (Harder than it sounds!) They also just launched their Snapchat Filters, an easy way to make your own custom geofilters for all of your wedding events. I’ll be using this for my bachelorette party next weekend and can’t wait to show you guys what I design!

Who will be getting you and your bridesmaids ready for the wedding? Do you have any salon recommendations for Nashville weddings?

My bridesmaids and I will all have our hair and makeup done by the talented glam teams at Parlour 3 and Hunter Paige, my mom’s salons in Brentwood, TN. They are truly the best in the business and I wholeheartedly trust them with all things beauty! If you’re a bride looking for hair and makeup for your wedding, contact events@hunter-paige.com to learn more about their bridal suite and packages.

Don’t forget about the guys! Cameron and his groomsmen will be getting haircuts and shaves at Barbour 3, my mom’s barber shop.

I hope you enjoyed reading about our wedding planning! If you have any additional questions, feel free to leave them in the comments below. Thanks for reading and supporting my blog! Xo Hunter
