We had the most INCREDIBLE staycation at the Thompson Nashville for my 23rd birthday. The Thompson is a new luxury boutique hotel in The Gulch and it exceeded all of our expectations. From the managers to the doorman to the waiters at Marsh House, we experienced nothing but wonderful and friendly service during our entire stay.
The Thompson’s mid-century modern décor perfectly blends the old with the new. The attention to detail throughout the hotel is unmatched. We were greeted at the front desk with our favorite cocktails and escorted up to our room, the Thomspon Suite. Complete with black and white checkered floors, a clawfoot bathtub and a breathtaking city view, it’s safe to say I was in HEAVEN.
We had a lovely dinner at John Besh’s newest venture, Marsh House. I was admittedly intimidated by the restaurant’s distinct menu, but all of the dishes were flavorful and delicious, combining local flavors with New Orleans inspiration. We will definitely be going back!
Waking up to the sunrise over the city was so special. We ordered room service (which was amazing) and enjoyed our coffee while listening to music and planning the rest of our day. Killebrew, the in-house coffee shop, is definitely worth a visit.
After breakfast, we wandered around and shopped in the Gulch. Another attractive feature of this hotel is its central location. Nestled between historic Music Row and the bright lights of Broadway, the Gulch is a flourishing area made up of restaurants, businesses, boutiques and more. A few of my local favorites include Blush, Parish, Two Old Hippies, Juice Bar and Turnip Truck.
This sassy sequin dress + fringe jacket combo and the maxi below are from The Showroom, a local store that I just recently discovered where you can buy or rent designer clothing. The girls who work there are SO helpful and they have curated the most amazing selection of clothes. Check them out for your next event or night out!
These unique Tennessee Whiskey color booties by Christopher Coy are not only fabulous, but deceivingly comfortable. I walked around in them all day. I’m telling you guys, they’re going to be the next big thing. They combine luxurious fashion with comfort like no other.
Nowww let’s talk about LA Jackson, the rooftop bar that sits atop the hotel and offers a spectacular view of the city from Downtown Nashville to SoBro. It has quickly and rightfully become one of Nashville’s new “it” spots. We met up with friends on two different occasions last weekend and had the best time. I recommend going on a weeknight when it’s not as crowded and you can take in the amazing décor.
We typically prefer to stay in Airbnb’s, but I can honestly say the Thompson is unlike any other hotel experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone. If you’ve been thinking about booking a stay, just do it and tell them I sent you. Huge thank you to Zach, Lisa and the rest of the Thompson Nashville family!
