Siena was a city that we knew very little about, but I’m so glad we kept it on our list of places to visit! We took a morning train there and spent the day wandering down the windy cobblestone streets, stumbling upon one beautiful piazza after the other. The town has such a quaint feel to it. It makes you want to slow down and take it all in.

We had a leisurely lunch in the Piazza del Campo and followed with gelato at Grom. Then we made our way to the Siena Cathedral. Pictures don’t do that place justice! The blue sky reflecting off the windows and the gold details in the sunlight were absolutely stunning. There was also a couple playing live music under the acoustics of the ancient city walls. Together, all of these things together made it an unforgettable scene.

During our last few days in Florence, we visited the Pitti Palace and Boboli Garden. I had been to Boboli before, but for some reason we skipped out on the Pitti Palace. The Costume Gallery, Porcelain Museum, and Silver Gallery were some of our favorite exhibitions we saw on the whole trip. In the Silver Gallery, there is an incredible cameo collection dating back to the 15th century. We also went to The Medici Dynasty Show per my good friend Ally’s recommendation. It was awesome to learn more about the history of Florence and the Medici family’s impact that is still evident throughout the city today. The last apartment we stayed in was wonderful! We stayed there for the majority of the trip and its central location made it perfect for exploring different areas of the city.

Overall, our Italian getaway was a dream come true! I hope you enjoyed the pictures. Please reach out with any questions about our trip and how we planned it. Thanks for reading! Xo
