In case you’re new around here, Cameron and I have a tradition of staying in treehouses. We have visited treehouses in Italy, Charleston and now Georgia. It all started on our honeymoon in Italy and we have loved continuing this tradition to celebrate more of life’s milestones… now with Remy!
We actually found out we were expecting for the first time (watch more on our miscarriage here) while in Charleston. It was a really special, full circle moment to have Remy with us on this trip.
If you live near Nashville, Selah Ridge is truly the perfect retreat. We canceled several trips this year due to COVID, so we were in need of a few days away and a change of scenery. April and Daniel have done such an incredible job at creating a haven among the treetops with Selah Ridge. It is a total sanctuary. You feel relaxed and secluded from the moment you arrive on the property.
The treehouse includes an outdoor shower, fire pit, waterfall, grill and cedar hot tub. The porch overlooks the most beautiful view and is the perfect spot to enjoy a hot cup of coffee in the morning. Even though the property feels secluded, you are just a few miles away from some great restaurants, shopping and hiking trails.
We were a little nervous about traveling with a five week old baby, but Remy was an angel! He slept on the drive and had no issues sleeping in the treehouse. My biggest advice on traveling with a newborn is to try and recreate their usual bedtime routine as much as possible. As soon as we swaddled him in his usual Ollie swaddle and turned on the white noise sound machine, he was out like a light.
April and Daniel are working on another build on their property that will be opening later this year. We cannot wait to go back and experience the magic of Selah Ridge again soon!
