We’re reaching the end of summer, which means the fall season is right around the corner. I think it’d be an understatement to say that this summer was one for the books! When I reflect on the past few months, our sweet family had so many special milestones. Remy went to “school camp” and loved every minute of it! He starts Pre-K this month, which I still can’t believe! They say time flies, but it isn’t until you see it in your children growing up that it truly sets in. My mom also turned 50, so we celebrated her birthday with her closest friends and family on her new property with a big bash. We also went on two beach trips as a family, which were both so special in their own ways.
We have so many fun activities in store for autumn! For someone who loves fall fashion as much as I do, this means it’s time to start thinking about transitioning our wardrobe from one season to the next. I love to take my staples and see how I can rework them in a refreshing way! You don’t have to buy an entire wardrobe for each season. Below are my transitional staples that help you effortlessly bridge the gap as we ease into chillier months.
MY SUMMER- TO- FALL WARDROBE STAPLES
- The Cargo Pant: Target Cargo Parachute Pants
- The Light Weight Maxi/ Midi Dress: Free People Darla Dress
- The Knit Dress: Revolve Rose Dress
- The Denim Jumpsuit: Show Me Your MuMu Jacksonville Jumpsuit
- The Longsleeve Mini Dress: Free People The Only One Mini Dress
- The Neutral Platform Boot: Free People natural boot
- The Cowboy Boot: Dolce Vita Shiren Boots
Cargo pants are a fun and trendy option for fall. Style them with a pair of white sneakers for an easy daytime look.
Maxi and midi dresses have been my summer favorites. They’re flowy and breathable which is perfect for hot summer days. But they are also versatile for fall! Transition these dresses into fall by adding layers like a cropped denim jacket, a chunky cardigan, or even a tailored blazer. Pair them with ankle or cowboy boots for an easy fall look.
A knit dress is a versatile piece that can work year-round. In the transition from summer to fall, opt for lightweight knit dresses in muted, earth colors like olive or burnt orange.
Jumpsuits have easily become a staple of mine. A denim jumpsuit can effortlessly transition from summer to fall. During warmer days, wear them with sandals. As fall approaches, layer with turtlenecks or lightweight sweaters, and pair with ankle or knee-high boots.
Cowboy boots are a classic that never goes out of style. Transition them from summer to fall by pairing them with cutoff shorts on warmer days. Wear them with a long-sleeved mini dress as the weather cools down.
