Can’t believe today is the last day of 2017! This has been one of the most exciting years of my life, and I’m so thankful for all of the memories made and the opportunities I’ve been given. I feel so lucky to be able to share my life and connect with so many amazing people from all over. I’m looking forward to creating more video and travel content for you guys in 2018, and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store! Below are some of my favorite items of the year. If you have some extra Christmas gift cards to spend, these items are all tried and true favorites of mine! You can click on any of the photos to shop the items directly. I hope you all have a wonderful NYE!!
FAVORITE ITEMS OF 2017
DENIM: I wear these 3 pairs of jeans with EVERYTHING. From left to right… The Free People busted knee skinny jeans are my go-to everyday jeans. They have the perfect medium to high rise and the busted knee adds a great distressed look.
For a more classic look with no distress, I am obsessed with my Madewell 10 Inch High Waist Skinnies. I was worried the 10 inch might be too long for my short torso, but they’re not at all. These go with everything and can be dressed up or down. I love the quality and fit of all Madewell denim. I did have them hemmed and tapered at the bottom, but the store offers complimentary alterations.
Lastly, I LOVE my Parker Smith Bombshells. I often pair them with cropped sweaters (as seen here). With their super high waist silhouette and gold rivets, they are probably the most flattering jeans I own.
HATS: Y’all know I love a good hat, and I’ve gotten SO much wear out of this Free People Wool Hat this year. I have it in two colors and wear them with everything from distressed band tees, to sundresses in the summer, sweaters and much more. It’s definitely one of my all-time favorite hat styles.
SPANX FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS: I know I know… you’ve probably heard enough about these dang leggings. But they really are THAT good. I’ve never been one to wear leggings as actual pants, but these are such great quality you can wear them with even the dressiest of tops. I often pair mine with casual sweaters and high top sneakers on-the-go. They’re definitely a splurge for leggings, but I promise you’ll get your wear out of them!
BAREFOOT DREAMS CARDIGAN: This is another one you’re probably sick of hearing about, but if you know, you know! I bought mine during the Nordstrom Sale after my best friend raved about hers. I was skeptical, but now I live in it! It’s the perfect light weight to wear around the house, but also cute enough to wear in public. I have the Calypso Wrap in Pewter/Black. Next on my wish list is a Barefoot Dreams Blanket!
BAGS (from left to right): Tbh this bag isn’t even mine…my mom passed her’s down to me when she got a new one. But if you’re looking to splurge, this Louis Vuitton Delightful Bag is my favorite of all time! It’s a classic blend of glamour and practicality and it fits everything under the sun. I call it my Mary Poppins bag!
Next up is another one of my favorite handbag brands, Hammitt! I love these bags for everyday wear. Their signature rivets make their bags stand out in a crowd, and their quality makes them a bag you’ll continually reach for. I have the Paul Crossbody in Pewter/Brushed Gold.
Last but certainly not least is the amazing Kelly Wynne. I first fell in love with Kelly’s unique designs during my time at Ole Miss. Her bags are full of texture and color and add the perfect pop to any outfit. I’ve been carrying my Mingle Mingle Mini in Slate on repeat this fall/winter and I also love my Cheers To Me Mini. You’re sure to turn heads with any of her fun designs!
EARRINGS: I don’t know why, but I’ve had a major moment with simple gold hoops this year. These Anthropologie Isabel earrings and these Francesa’s Paddle-Bottom Hoops have been my staples.
BANDANAS: Hands down my favorite accessory of 2017! Wear them around your neck, tie it onto a tote, wrap it around your wrist… Trust me, you’ll never run out of the ways to wear these timeless bandanas. My favorite place to purchase them is Madewell. They have a great assortment of patterns at very reasonable prices.
MULES: Honestly, I’ve never been into flats until this year. I always feel like I need some kind of heel to make me feel a little taller, but I’ve recently fallen in love with mules. Below are a few of my favorite styles and most are at super reasonable price points.
BOOTIES: I don’t know why, but I’ve always had a hard time finding a pair of black booties that I love. I’ve been eyeing the Chloe studded boots for years, but just couldn’t pull the trigger on that price for a trendy item. I found these Black Studded Dupes online (as seen in photos above) and have worn them non-stop. Full disclosure: the website is a little sketchy but I’m super happy with the quality given the price. I wish they had them in other colors! My other go-to bootie this fall/winter is the Vince Camuto Destilly 2. It has the perfect chunky block heel and the grey suede goes with nearly everything.
TRAVEL BAGS: I absolutely love my Vince Camuto Luggage and, after 4 trips, it has held up surprisingly well. This vintage-inspired luggage puts romance back into travel with this steamer trunk collection. I have it in light gray, but would recommend a darker color to avoid the inevitable scratches from airport travel.
My other travel essential is the ABLE Mayte Leather Backpack. Not only do I use it for travel, but everyday for on-the-go meetings and toting my laptop around. It’s a very spacious backpack and the quality is really incredible! Complete with easy-to-reach pockets and and space to fit a 15″ laptop, you’ll find yourself reaching for this bag time and time again.
BEAUTY ESSENTIALS: I can’t sleep without an eye mask, and this Slip Silk one is by far my favorite. I’d opt for a darker color so you don’t get leftover mascara all over it… I have the navy blue and it doesn’t ever get too dirty. Plus the silk fabric is great for wrinkle prevention.
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I’m all about quick and easy makeup. IT Cosmetics CC Cream is my favorite for everyday wear. It gives you flawless and light coverage while also protecting your skin. I wear light in the winter and medium in the summer or when I have a spray tan.
This year I have also worn Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks on repeat. My two favorite colors are Kim K.W. and Bitch Perfect. It’s tough to narrow down my makeup favorites, but you can check out the rest of my beauty favorites here.
SUNGLASSES: Lastly, here are my most-worn sunglasses of 2017! I tend to not splurge too much on sunglasses because I’m always losing things. However, I’ve managed to keep up with these Round Ray-Bans and absolutely love them. For a similar look without the price, I love these Madewell round aviators. I have them in both gold and golden brown.
