When is baby’s due date?

Baby Premo is due June 26th! I’m excited for a summer baby.

Are you having a boy or girl?

We are having a BOY and I couldn’t be more excited. Cameron is one of three boys and I love the relationship they share with each other and their mom. I was completely shocked though! Read more about our gender reveal here.

How did you tell Cameron?

I wish I had a cute story of how I told Cameron… but truthfully it was around midnight on a Thursday night. Our family had just left and we were gearing up for a busy weekend ahead with all of Chandler and Haylie’s wedding festivities. I randomly took a cheap Amazon pregnancy test and was shocked to see a positive line.

I immediately went to Cameron in the bedroom and proceeded to take 3 more. I don’t think it fully sank in for a few days for either of us, but we were so excited and hopeful! I wish I had thought to tell him in a cuter way or record his reaction, but my mind did not go there at the time. Maybe next time. 😉

How did you tell friends and family?

Cookie was actually the first to know! I knew I wanted to wait to tell our families until after the wedding weekend, but I had to tell someone. Over the next few weeks we slowly told friends and family in different ways and it was SO much fun. We shared a video of some of their reactions here. If you’re able, I highly recommend getting reactions on camera. They are some of my favorite videos ever!

How are you feeling?

Now that I’m in my second trimester, I’m feeling SO good. I keep saying I’ve got my groove back. My energy levels are back to normal and the nausea is completely gone for the most part. Now I’m looking forward to fun things like baby showers, getting the nursery together and our babymoon.

Current cravings?

My first trimester I wanted nothing but CARBS. Since day one I have craved spicy and salty foods though…. like the hottest pad Thai I can get my hands on, pickles, spicy ramen etc. I’ve always loved Asian food but it’s next level right now. I haven’t really had any sweet cravings other than Sour Patch Kids!

First pregnancy symptoms?

Something that caught me off guard was just the pure EXHAUSTION I felt. It felt like jet lag mixed with a terrible hangover. I’ve never been a napper and for a few weeks I took a nap every single day.

I also had ‘morning sickness’ but that is a terrible name for it. My sickness lasted all day and was actually worse in the afternoons and the middle of the night. At one point I was waking up around 3 a.m. every night to eat Saltine crackers because my nausea would keep me from sleeping.

My best advice is to eat snacks ALL DAY. The second I started to feel hungry was when the nausea hit. Some foods that helped me were Saltines, toast, bagels, bananas and frozen grapes. Unisom is a pregnancy safe sleepaid that also helped me stay asleep through the night and wake up feeling better.

I’m typically a pretty healthy eater, so I was so relieved when I started craving vegetables again at around 14 weeks. When you’re in the thick of first trimester nausea it feels like there is no end in sight, but luckily it subsided for me. It quite literally went away overnight and I haven’t been nauseous since. Fingers crossed!

Strangest pregnancy symptoms?

I’ve had had a few strange symptoms like nosebleeds, popped blood vessels in my eye and extremely vivid dreams.

Are you planning a babymoon?

YES we are going to Paris in March and I’m beyond excited! Neither of us have ever been and I’m looking forward to exploring a new place together.

Do you have a name picked out?

Yes! We have his name picked out and we love it SO much. We have told close friends and family, but won’t be announcing publicly until he’s here. It’s a gender neutral name like Hunter and Cameron.

What are you most excited about?

I have to say I’m most excited about seeing Cameron become a dad. He already talks to baby every day and has been so supportive since the day I found out. He is a very loving and nurturing person by nature and I can’t wait to see how becoming a dad will amplify those qualities. We are just so excited to have a little buddy to teach and love!

What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant?

Honestly I was shocked. I really did not expect for it to happen so quickly. We found out the Thursday before my brother-in-law and sister-in-law Chandler and Haylie’s wedding weekend. We kept the news from everyone (except Cookie!) until the following week and then we told our parents. It was SO hard to spend the weekend with our closest friends and family and not spill the beans. My dad was the only one who noticed I wasn’t drinking at the wedding, but he didn’t think much of it.

How far along were you when you found out?

I found out really early on! This made it even harder to keep it a secret because we felt like we had known forever by 12 weeks. I found out the day my period was supposed to start so I was probably barely 4 weeks pregnant at the time. We told close friends and family pretty early on.

Do you have any fears?

The first few weeks were filled with fear and doubts because of my previous miscarriage.

Besides those first few weeks, I have been surprisingly calm throughout my pregnancy. I haven’t really been emotional or irritable. In fact, I think I’m more calm than usual and things that normally stress me out aren’t bothering me. I think this has to do with pregnancy putting things in perspective and helping me prioritize what’s important.

How long did you try to get pregnant before you conceived?

We were really lucky to get pregnant within the first month or two of trying. After experiencing a miscarriage earlier this year, I had a lot of fears surrounding getting and staying pregnant so this was a huge blessing. I used the FLO app to track my ovulation and get to know my body better, but I wasn’t obsessively tracking at that point.

What is your pregnancy workout plan?

First trimester it was nonexistent. I always thought I’d be someone who would workout throughout my entire pregnancy, but I was just too tired and nauseous to function. I managed to go on a few walks here and there and it always felt good to get outside.

Now that I’m into my second trimester, I am doing barre classes 2-3 times a week and going for more walks. It feels SO good to move my body and get back in a fitness routine. I’ve been loving Barre 3 in Brentwood. It’s mind-body focused and I leave feeling so refreshed.

What are your pregnancy must-haves so far?

So far my must have’s are Spanx Maternity leggings, Lululemon Align Pants (size up for a more comfortable fit), Show Me Your Mumu maternity flares, a pregnancy pillow and a journal to document my pregnancy. I’ve also been taking weekly or bi-weekly bump update photos with our Instax Polaroid camera. It’s already crazy to look back and see how much my body has changed over the past few months! As far as supplements go, I’ve taken Smarty Pants Prenatals and an additional iron supplement since before I found out I was pregnant.

Thanks for reading and I’m looking forward to sharing more of this journey with you all! Leave your second trimester questions in the comments below.
