We’re fully leaning into fall activities and soaking up these moments with the family. We just got back from Dollywood and I honestly can’t believe we’d never been, being from Tennessee and all! It was the perfect weekend getaway with the kids, and now I completely understand why everyone says fall is the best time to go!
The whole park is decorated for the season with their harvest decor, pumpkins everywhere, and the prettiest mountain backdrop. The weather couldn’t have been better. It was crisp, sunny, and perfect for being outside all day. The boys had the best time on the rides, and I definitely recommend bringing a grandparent along if you have kids at different ages. It makes switching out for rides so much easier.
One of my favorite parts of the day was the train ride through the mountains. Seeing all the fall-colored leaves with the family was such a special moment. We spent time exploring Wildwood Grove, which is such a great spot for families. There are plenty of rides that younger kids can enjoy, and lots of shaded areas and places to sit when you need a break. I also love how family-friendly the park is with nursing stations, stroller parking, and plenty of places to grab a quick snack.
Speaking of snacks, you can’t leave Dollywood without stopping for their famous cinnamon bread. It’s warm, buttery, and absolutely worth the wait in line. The boys loved the caramel apples and pumpkin fudge!
If you’re planning a visit, I recommend coming in mid-October when the leaves are at their peak and the crowds are a little lighter during the week. Dress in layers, wear comfy shoes, and take your time soaking it all in. Between the rides, the mountain views, and the fall magic, there’s truly something for everyone. Shop our outfits here
We’ll definitely be making this a yearly tradition. Dollywood in the fall just hits different, and it’s one of those trips that reminds you how special it is to make these memories together.
