I had the best 24th birthday weekend filled with lots of quality time with friends and family. I love having a birthday near the holidays because it makes the most wonderful time of the year even more special!
The celebrations started a day early with a spa day with my best friend Cookie at Rhapsody Spa in the Westin. Then I went to dinner at Merchant’s (one of my all-time favorites) and out to see Janet Jackson in concert with my mom, mother-in-law Kim and Haylie. We had the best time dancing the night away and it was pretty surreal to see the legend herself in person. My favorite moments of the night were her tribute to Michael and her incredible back-up dancers. They were a show on their own!
On my actual birthday, Cameron and I finally tried out EIO & the Hive and it was even better than expected. Everything on the menu is organic. They feature healthy comfort foods, all of which are sourced locally. I had the Avocado Toast with an egg and Cam had the Flapjacks. Both were to die for! (See the drool-worthy photos below.) Oh, and their decor is serious boho GOALS. We will definitely be going back there soon.
Then we headed downtown to Broadway and went to the Johnny Cash Museum for the first time ever. It’s so easy to forget to do all the things people travel far and wide for right here in our own city. We love Johnny Cash and are both huge history nerds… so we had a blast reading every last tidbit about his life and exploring the museum. I especially loved reading all of his love letters to June.
That night, we had everyone over to my in-law’s house for my Holly Jolly birthday. Everyone came dressed in their Christmas best and we had such a blast playing games, sipping Peppermint martinis and getting in the Christmas spirit. I feel so blessed to have such an incredible support system of family and friends. 23 was hard to top, but I can’t wait to see what 24 has in store!
