If you haven’t noticed, Cameron and I LOVE a good staycation. We celebrated Valentine’s Day early this year with a little getaway at the modern and industrial 506 Lofts. Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, the lofts are themed around different aspects of the building’s history.
As Nashville natives, it’s refreshing for us to see a modern business that pays homage to our city’s roots. The lofts are located in a brick building off Church St. that has been around since 1880. It has also been home to numerous thriving businesses over the years including the historic Harvey’s, one of Nashville’s most popular department stores. I grew up listening to my Mimi and great grandmother tell stories about shopping at Harvey’s. There was a carousel inside the store and they had a food counter called the “Monkey Bar” (pictured right) that was complete with live monkeys!
We stayed in Loft 202 aka the Monkey Bar Loft. It features 16 ft. tall ceilings, exposed brick and a dreamy white tile bathroom. We spent our night on the couch eating takeout, watching the Grammy’s and drinking wine. In the midst of the city’s rapid growth, 506 Lofts offers the perfect balance of historic charm with a modern touch. I would highly recommend it to anyone passing through Nashville or locals like us in need of a little getaway!
