This post is sponsored by WeddingWire. As always, all opinions are my own.

It’s hard to believe we are just three days away from our first wedding anniversary. Today I’m partnering with WeddingWire to share our #HowWeWed moments, a campaign that celebrates unique and personalized wedding elements. Find out more about the campaign and how to enter to win an incredible giveaway here. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to share these beautiful film images by Draper Gray. It almost makes it even sweeter to go through and share them with you guys now. Read more about some of my favorite #HowWeWed moments below!

MY BRIDAL KIMONO

My friends at Hey Wanderer designed the most beautiful kimono for me to get ready in with pieces of my mom and Mimi’s wedding gowns. The bell sleeves were made from the lace of my mom’s dress from the 90’s, the appliqué on the back was from my Mimi’s dress from the 70’s and the ribbon around my waist was a piece of silk from my dress that we snagged during alterations. As much as I loved wearing it, I am even more excited to pass this heirloom piece down in our family for generations to come. They also designed the hand-dyed robes for of my bridesmaids. Each of the robes were uniquely dyed and sewn for each girl.

THE MUSIC

We spent a lot of time selecting the music for our ceremony and reception. Growing up in Nashville, music has always been a big part of our lives and our relationship. During the ceremony, our dear friend Abigail Rose sang a beautiful rendition of “You Make My Dreams Come True” by Hall and Oates as I walked down the aisle. Our other friend Calvin Malone sang a soulful version of James Arthur’s “Say You Won’t Let Go” and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Their performances were very touching and it was so special to incorporate our friend’s talents into our ceremony.

We were honored to have our friend Christian Lopez sing for our first dance. We first met Christian in Oxford, Mississippi while I was interning for Thacker Mountain Radio Hour. Cameron and my mom happened to be in town one weekend for a show and we were blown away by his talent. We fell in love with a song titled “The Man I Was Before.” Little did we know, he would be singing it at our wedding a little over a year later.

Another really special moment of the night was my dad’s performance of “Dance With My Daughter.” He played the piano and our friend Dana Jorgensen accompanied him with vocals and guitar. It is such a sweet song that I had never heard before until that night. After their performance my dad and I danced to “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra. Cameron and his mom danced to “Never Alone” by Lady Antebellum. Then, my mom and Cameron’s dad decided that it wasn’t fair for the Mother of the Bride and Father of the Groom to be left out of all the dances… so they grooved to “We Are Family” and then brought the whole bridal party out. Leave it to them to get the party started!

After dinner, our band Atlanta Groove Factory kept the party going all night long. They were the most energetic and FUN wedding band I’ve ever seen. I did not leave the dance floor once all night and I loved every second of it! By the end of the night, Cameron and I were on stage with our parents singing to “Pour Some Sugar On Me.” They played such a great variety of songs and made the reception truly unforgettable.

MY NECKLACE

During Cameron’s speech at our rehearsal dinner, he asked me to come up and stand next to him. He began talking about my great grandmother Darcy who was the backbone of our family and truly meant the world to me. She passed away a few years ago, but Cameron always made it a point to visit her while I was at college in Mississippi. Unbeknownst to me, he asked for her permission to marry me on one of those visits. Keep in mind, this was about three years before he actually proposed. She gave him a beautiful diamond necklace to pass along to me when we got married.

Needless to say, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. The craziest part is how similar the necklace looks to my engagement ring. In fact, everyone asks if they were made by the same designer.  Cameron had never seen the necklace until a few months before the wedding. It was definitely one of those “you’re exactly where you’re meant to be moments” that I will never forget and I was honored to wear her necklace on my wedding day.
