I recently had the amazing opportunity to attend The Workshop Phoenix. It was an incredible experience from start to finish. Not only was The Workshop packed full of insightful sessions and valuable information, but everyone I encountered was so genuine and welcoming.
Maui is an absolute DREAM. It is the perfect trifecta of natural beauty, relaxing beaches and outdoor adventure. The vibrant views of the island's natural beauty will forever linger in my memory. As far as tropical destinations go, it definitely ranks at the top of my list. Cameron and I have been on many trips together over the last nine years, but spending our honeymoon in Maui was by far one of the most memorable.
You know your girl loves a good staycation. I was so excited when my friends Casey and Savannah from Hey Wanderer had the idea of a Galentine's Staycation with our friend Sarah! Whether you're single or an old married lady like me, it's so important to spend time with girlfriends. We recently had a snow storm in Nashville and our staycation was planned right at the end of it. The snow made for a even cozier experience and made our stay at the Aertson that much more fun.
Last month I got the chance to escape to the beautiful landscapes of Center Hill Lake for a relaxing getaway with a group of fellow Nashville creatives. We stayed at a unique treehouse overlooking the lake, complete with 5 balconies and breathtaking views.
When I was asked to go on a trip to Wyoming, my first response was " well, that's kind of random." What I didn't suspect was how quickly I would fall in love with the state and its beautuful landscapes. Wyoming is a place where the untamed spirit of the wild west still flourishes.
As I mentioned in my latest post, we recently got the chance to visit Wyoming. Not only did we get to explore and learn all about the beautiful state, but we were also there for Josh Dorr's EP release. To be totally honest, I had never listened to his music until right before the trip, and I left a total fan of his work and of Josh as a person.
Growing up in Nashville makes it easy to overlook all the history that the city holds. I have been to the Grand Ole Opry countless times. I grew up going to work with my mom for various artists over the years, but never really took the time appreciate the building, the music and all that it represents until recently.
Oxford, Mississippi... a place that gets in your heart and stays there forever. I knew nothing about Oxford or Ole Miss before I toured the campus my senior year of high school. In fact, I didn't even apply to go to school there. When a friend asked me to join her on a campus tour, I immediately felt at home amongst the tall oak trees and charming southern hospitality. My four years in college flew by, but the memories and friendships I made in that small little town will last a lifetime.
SoBro Guest House is a trendy and innovative boutique hotel in Nashville with all the comforts of home. From the ease of their mobile check-in (think: no front desk or losing door keys) to the chic decor and prime location, they really make it easy to relax and enjoy your stay. Located just three blocks south of Nashville's world-famous Broadway, SoBro Guest House is just steps away from many of downtown's biggest attractions.
If you haven't noticed, Cameron and I LOVE a good staycation. We celebrated Valentine's Day early this year with a little getaway at the modern and industrial 506 Lofts. Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, each of the lofts are themed around different aspects of the building's history.
Hey everyone! Wow, life has been quite a whirlwind lately and I'm so excited to share what I've been up to. We recently took a ski trip to Vail, Colorado and it was just incredible. Since high school, we have been going on ski trips with Cameron's family. Of all the places we've visited in Colorado, Vail is hands-down my favorite!
We had the most INCREDIBLE staycation at the Thompson Nashville for my 23rd birthday. The Thompson is a new luxury boutique hotel in The Gulch and it exceeded all of our expectations. From the managers to the doorman to the waiters at Marsh House, we experienced nothing but wonderful and friendly service during our entire stay.
I wanted to plan a trip for Cameron's 25th birthday but since our busy schedules didn’t allow it, I succesfully surprised him with an equally relaxing staycation at the one and only Urban Cowboy in East Nashville. Their motto, “Arrive as strangers, leave as friends,” rings true to our experience at the hip and distinctively designed bed and breakfast created by Lyon Porter. Our hosts, Max and Chelsea, welcomed us with a shot of whiskey and a smile.
Oh, New Orleans. There’s so much joy to be found here. There is also an unexpected serenity to be discovered when you look past the bright lights of Bourbon Street. This becomes especially evident while walking along the Bayou St. John or in the cool shade between the live oaks. The fusion of new and old, the vibrant music scene and unique culinary experiences all contribute to the city’s rich culture and lively spirit.
The first week of July, we went on the most incredible vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It was unlike any other vacation I've ever experienced! We stayed on a yacht called the C-Cra-C (pronounced Secrecy) near the Sea of Cortez. Our days consisted of laying out, drinking daiquiris, fishing, snorkeling, jet skiing, with sea lion and mantarays, exploring the city and eating authentic Mexican cuisine made daily on the boat. Tough life right??
I studied abroad in Florence the summer before my junior year of college. So arriving back in Florence felt like being home again! I have so much love for that city and had the best time sharing all the things I love about it with Cameron. He took me on this trip for my graduation present and I felt like the luckiest girl in the world the entire time.
I’ve always known Cameron was incredibly romantic, but he KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK with his proposal. I mean it honestly could not have been any more perfect. A little bit of back-story… Cameron and I have been dating on and off since my sophomore year of high school. When I studied abroad in Florence with two of my best friends after my sophomore year of college, I buried a note for Cameron in a park down the street from where we lived.
As if Cam’s proposal wasn’t incredible enough… We spent our first day as an engaged couple in a treehouse in the Tuscan hills. Our whole trip was amazing, but our time at the treehouse was nothing short of MAGICAL. It was the perfect way to escape from the busy city and celebrate.
Venice is a place that I have dreamed of visiting since I was little! My Nanny and I even had a "Venice Fund" piggybank in her kitchen for as long as I can remember. After missing our bus to Venice while studying abroad (LOL Ally and Holland), I was determined to make it there on this trip.
To be honest, we didn’t do a ton of research before this trip. We knew where we wanted to go and the basics of each city but that was about it. I’m a BIG planner and Cameron is more of a go with the flow kind of guy. Instead of having every minute planned, this laidback mindset really worked in our favor this trip. It enabled us to stumble upon hidden gems that we might have missed. Our last day trip was to Lucca and ended up being one of our favorite destinations on the trip.
Siena was a city that we knew very little about, but I’m so glad we kept it on our list of places to visit! We took a morning train there and spent the day wandering down the windy cobblestone streets, stumbling upon one beautiful piazza after the other. The town has such a quaint feel to it. It makes you want to slow down and take it all in.
