Our ceremony was complete with dripping greenery, floral chandeliers, and a breathtaking view of the Tennessee foliage surrounding the reclaimed rock quarry. We wanted every detail to feel personal to us and our relationship.

My cousin Christopher has known Cameron and I since we first started dating about nine years ago. He has seen us through every phase of our relationship. He gave a beautiful speech about our love and watching us grow over the years. Ken Dye, our other officiant, has known Cameron’s parents since before Cameron was born. It was surreal to stand up there with Christopher and Ken as we said our vows in front of all the people we love most. I just kept looking around and trying to take in those moments. Bud Fisher also gave a wonderful speech about marriage, faith and loving each other through the good and the bad. 

Music was another important component to us as we planned out wedding. Our dear friend Abigail Rose sang a beautiful rendition of “You Make My Dreams Come True” by Hall and Oates as I walked down the aisle. Our other friend Calvin Malone sang a soulful version of James Arthur’s “Say You Won’t Let Go” and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Their performances were very touching and it was so special to incorporate our friend’s talents into our ceremony. 

The talented Hope of Sincerely Hope Designs  helped make my creative visions for my wedding come to life. She did everything from our invitations to our wedding crest design, and even our wedding day signage. We met by chance a few months before the wedding and I truly don’t know what I would have done without her incredible design skills. I couldn’t get enough of the adorable ring bearer signs! 

My Vows

“Cameron, I’ve told you I love you since I was 15 years old. I meant it with my whole heart back then, but that love has taken on entirely new meaning as we have grown together and in our relationship.

I admire your sense of adventure and how you somehow manage to teach me something new every single day. Your creative spirit makes life so much more exciting. I can’t wait to experience all the adventure and beauty this world has to offer with you. 

I promise to keep myself open to you and grow along with you through the joys and challenges that are sure to come. 

I will always hold your hand, kiss you goodnight, and do the laundry. I will strive to practice patience… no matter how many times you fall asleep watching a movie with me. 

I vow to comfort you in the hard times and share in the joys of your happiness. May we never forget to put our love and faith in the center of all that we do. 

I will strive to be present in all the moments that we share together. Not just the life-changing moments, but all the little ones between. For it is those moments that add up to create the magic of our love. 

You make me feel loved and cherished every single day of my life. I promise to dream with you, pray with you and to always encourage you. 

For it is your heart that inspires me, your spirit that completes me and your hand I want to hold for all of my days. I have loved every moment of my life with you and can’t wait to see what married life has to offer. I love you for the father I know you’ll be and the partner you already are. 

Loving you has been the greatest joy in my life and I couldn’t have dreamed of a better family to become a part of.

Neutral-hued florals by Enchanted Florist paired with gold details and ethereal greenery made the whole ceremony feel like an enchanted garden. We had a cocktail hour outside before all the festivities began. We created signature His + Hers drinks with our friends at With Co Cocktails. They specialize in fresh ingredient cocktail mixers so you can spend more time with your people and less time making drinks. We used the Bouquet for a crisp and refreshing option and the Ellis Old Fashioned for a smooth and comforting whiskey mixture. They were a hit with our guests! 

Instead of one big cake, we opted for 3 gold-brushed cakes made by Dessert Designs by Leland (see below). We had a hard time deciding on just one flavor, so we did each tier of each cake a different flavor. The caramel cake seemed to be a crowd favorite, but you can’t go wrong with any of Leland’s many delicious offerings.

Cameron’s AMAZING groom’s cake was made by Ivey Cake. It was a hunting-themed chocolate cake complete with camp icing and a tree with our initials carved into it. They even included our hashtag (#camshuntisover) on a sign on top of the cake. 

We were so honored to have our friend Christian Lopez sing for our first dance. We first met Christian in Oxford, Mississippi while I was interning for Thacker Mountain Radio Hour. Cameron and my mom happened to be in town one weekend for a show, and we were blown away by his talent. We fell in love with a song titled “The Man I Was Before.” Little did we know, he would be singing it at our wedding a little over a year later. 

Another really special moment of the night was my dad’s performance of “Dance With My Daughter.” He played the piano and our friend Dana Jorgensen accompanied him with vocals and guitar. It is such a sweet song that they completely surprised me with. After their performance, we danced to “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra. Cameron and his mom danced to “Never Alone” by Lady Antebellum. Then, my mom and Cameron’s dad decided that it wasn’t fair for the Mother of the Bride and Father of the Groom to be left out of all the dances, so they grooved to “We Are Family” and then brought the whole bridal party out. Leave it to them to get the party started!

After dinner, our band Atlanta Groove Factory kept the party going all night long. They were the most energetic and FUN wedding band I’ve ever seen. I did not leave the dance floor once all night and I loved every second of it! By the end of the night, Cameron and I were on stage with our parents singing to “Pour Some Sugar On Me.” They played such a great variety of songs and made the reception truly unforgettable. 

After all the the festivities had commenced, we said our farewells and were escorted to a beautiful room at Thompson Nashville where we sat for hours and reflected on our perfect night. Best part? Cameron’s brother LeBraun and his fiancé Shalan brought our dog Cooper to the hotel to stay with us. 

 We can’t thank our parents, family, friends and vendors enough for all of the hard work and time that went into making our wedding so special. We will be forever grateful and will cherish the memories made for the rest of our lives.
